Mary Christine Mitchell, age 92, of Eatonton passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born January 14, 1929 in Dekalb County, Georgia to the late Marvin Arthur Trimble and Inez Gibbs Trimble. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Mitchell; her daughter, Karen Milton; sons in law, Bobby Milton and Leon Hindmon; and brothers, Marvin Trimble and Fred Trimble. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her brother, Bishop (Saundra) Trimble of Covington, GA; sister in law, Brenda Trimble of Covington, GA; daughter, Janice Hindmon of Eatonton, GA; her son and daughter in law, David and Candy Mitchell of Oxford, AL; MeMaw will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Alison Hindmon, Eric (Andrea) Hindmon, Vanessa Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Jami (David) Albright, Shelby (Ian) Carey and Natalie Milton; and her great grandchildren, Parker Doyle, Avery Mitchell, Camille, Elizabeth and Maren Albright, Liam, Eleanora and Jaxon Hindmon; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Christine (also known as Peggy to her Trimble family) was a dedicated wife and mother. She lived in the Oak Grove community of Dekalb County for over 50 years. In addition to being an outstanding homemaker, she worked for several years in Dekalb County schools and a food service worker and cafeteria manager.
The service to celebrate the life of Mary Christine (Peggy) Mitchell will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM, at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. Pastor Howard Greer will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends also on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the time of service, 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
