William Ellsworth Cottrell, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, after an extended illness.
He was born March 24, 1932, at Reedy, the son of the late William Herbert and Martha Jane "Mattie" Conrad Cottrell.
Bill loved his family very much. They were all he thought about and asked about when was visited at the Care Center. Bill also had a huge and loving spiritual family at his Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Ripley, where he was a member since the early 80's and having been baptized in the 1970's while attending another Congregation.
He was a kind loving friend and spiritual Brother. Bill was always concerned about others and he always wanted to tell everyone he was close to about the Good News of God's Kingdom.
Bill was sure of his future place as a subject of the Kingdom. He would be thrilled if all who are reading this obituary would check out our website at www.jw.org to dig deeper into Bible truths and to see for yourself the beautiful promises that God has in store for us right here on Earth.
What a wonderful time that will be for ones to be living in and for us to welcome Bill back to life in the coming Resurrection that's promised in John 5:28-29.
There will be a funeral service at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11.
Family and friends may visit starting at noon.
