Joseph "Ray" Churchwell, 65, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away September 9, 2017. He was born September 1, 1952, in Ukiah, California, to Joseph Randolph Churchwell, Sr. and Laverne (Guinn) Denton.
Ray was a very kind father and friend to everyone. He served with the 223rd Combat Squad of the Arkansas Air National Guard.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Debra Watson Churchwell and mother, Laverne Denton
Survivors include his father, Joseph Churchwell, Sr. (Karen) of Hot Springs; sons, Dale Churchwell (Lisa) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Patrick Churchwell of Hot Springs; daughter, Debbie Johnson (David) of Jessieville; brothers, Bruce Churchwell of Walker, Louisiana, Randy Joe Churchwell of Shreveport, Louisiana, Joseph Churchwell, Jr. (Angela), Michael Churchwell both of Hot Springs; sisters, Tonia Daniels (Damon) of Amity, Brenda Harrison (Jack) of Jessieville; sister-in-law, Gloria Hall of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Casey Johnson, Daniel, Nicole, and Colton Churchwell; very inseparable best friend, Rick Dill of Fountain Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
