Marilyn obtained her beauty license in 1947 from Quincy Beauty Academy and was a self-employed beautician. She and Raymond moved to the Champaign Urbana area where she worked for Magnavox in Urbana, IL and Colwell Company in Champaign, IL. In 1997 they moved to Springfield, IL and remained there until Raymond's death when Marilyn moved to Illinois Veterans Home of Quincy. Marilyn was a member of United Methodist Church of Barry, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and playing Bingo.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Dallas (Pat) Patterson of Barry, IL; nieces and nephews, Karen (Bob) Grabowski, Kay Hoaglin, Kent (Jan) Patterson, Joyce (Tom) Losch, Bruce (Michelle) Patterson, Kathy (Steve) Gerecke, Linda Patterson, David Patterson, Gary (Heather) Patterson, Mark Motley, Mike (Diane) Motley and Dena (Brad) Roate; three step-daughters, Deb Balik of Loveland, CO, Linda (John) VanderMeulen of Dubuque, IA and Jean (Gary) Erion of Loveland, CO; four step grandchildren; one step great grandson; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edna Patterson; her loving husband of over 50 years, Raymond Dunn; sister, Carmen A. Furniss; and stepson in law, Bob Balik.
Graveside service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Cemetery located at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL.
