Melissa was the beloved daughter of Janet Beal Gilsdorf, mother of three, and a surgical nurse at the North Okaloosa Regional Medical Center. On January 6, 2006, at approximately 11:00 P.M., the body of Melissa Lynn Howard was discovered by her daughter, and two other subjects in her Crestview home located on Tiffot Court. She had been brutally murdered in her home. She was divorced and had been involved in long court battle with her ex-husband over child custody. So far, her murder remains unsolved.
