Kirsten Maria Dixen "Mary" was born February 24, 1842 in Denmark, the daughter of Hans Lauesen Dixen and Anna Magdelene Willads-datter. She was baptized in Vonsild Sogn, Denmark.
Mary married Anders Anderson on either February 25th or 26th 1872, in Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas. Greenwood County, Kansas marriage records indicate the 25th but her obituary states the 26th. Anders was born September 24, 1843, in Norway.
Mary and Anders did not have any children. She and Anders operated the business of the Eureka Bakery which Anders took over in 1871.
Anders died March 22, 1922, in Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas. Mary died in September 1928 in Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas.

For a good many years Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were engaged in the bakery business in Eureka. Mr. Anderson died on March 29, 1922. Since that time Mrs. Anderson has lived by herself in the old home in this city. She was a member of the Moravian Brethern Church in Denmark, and never felt that she ought transfer her membership to any church in the United States.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were never blessed with children of their own, however, they made their sterling qualities felt in the community in which they lived. More than one young person in the days gone by remembers with gratitude the examples of honesty and upright living found in these two rather humble people of this community. The Andersons provided a home for two nieces and two nephews who joined them after they were in business in Eureka. The names of these young people were Magdalene, Alma, and Oscar(can't read one line) homes of these children were broken up in the old county and they found care and guidance in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson in Eureka. At least one of these young folks, Mrs. Calvin, of Madison, Kansas, has had the privilege of ministering to Mrs. Anderson in her last days.
The funeral was held last Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Congregational Church, Rev. John H. Jones was in charge, assisted by Rev. C.H. Hjortholm, of the Norwegian Lutheran Church. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
