William Jasper Bartlett, age 83, of Compton, Arkansas, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born January 1, 1938, in Newton County, Arkansas, the son of Robert and Oma Lula (Luper) Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Vernie, Ernie, Roy Faye, Leonard, and Billy Hue Bartlett; and his sisters, Gertrude Phillips, Ruby Armer, Adean Youngblood, and Aldean Bartlett.

Jasper was a member of New Hope Full Gospel Church in Compton. He attended school at Plumlee and went on to work in the timber industry with his father and brothers. He owned and operated his own fruit orchard and had worked for Arkansas Western Gas Company as well. Jasper retired from Tyson Foods in Green Forest, Arkansas.

Jasper is survived by his wife, Barbara (Villines) Edgar Bartlett, of the home; his daughter, Rhonda Hughes, of Siloam Springs; his granddaughters, Heather Ballou of Watts, Oklahoma and Amber Reed and husband Bobby and their son Judson, of Siloam Springs; his step-daughter, Donna Plumlee and her husband Herb, of Harrison; his step-son, Rev. Billy Joe Edgar and wife Tommie, of Bergman; his step-grandchildren, Matthew Piper and wife Addi, Tyrel Piper, Nathaniel Edgar, Bethany Saylor and husband Talan, Hannah Edgar, and Faith Edgar; his step-great-granddaughters; many nieces, nephews, and friends who will mourn his passing.

Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

The funeral service is 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at New Hope Full Gospel Church in Compton, with Pastor Arlis Burks and Rev. Billy Joe Edgar officiating.

Interment will be in Plumlee Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Kenny Bartlett, Herb Plumlee, James Bartlett, Caleb Dye, Tyrel Piper, and Willie Villines.

Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Woodell, Russell Faddis, Gary Campbell, Jerry Parker, Ewell Spencer, Darrell Youngblood, and Lester Davidson.
