Dorothy "Dot" Lynn Welch
of Conway, AR
November 11, 1965 - December 5, 2021

Our beautiful, faithful Dot passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021. While she will be greatly missed, her family and many friends are comforted in knowing she is in the arms of our Lord. The youngest of six children, Dorothy Lynn Cox was born on November 11, 1965 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Norman and Mary Lewis Cox. She called Conway, Arkansas home since August 1999.

Dot's life was centered in her faith and family. Marrying Kent in 2004 and welcoming Hudson into their family in 2005 were her biggest blessings. She made a loving home where friends were always welcome and often gathering to live and celebrate the everyday moments of life. She had an uncanny ability to build a village that included all. Nothing brought her more joy than praise and worship at New Life, a house full of teenagers, high school basketball games, a road trip to somewhere new and life on the lake. Dot had the unique gift to immediately connect with people and then to connect people with one another. Her superpower was how she intentionally invested in the lives of others through notes of encouragement, small acts of service, and remembering the big and little events of people's lives.

Dot completed a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication at Indiana University. She was a graduate of the Faulkner County Leadership Institute and served in many leadership roles , offering her time, talent, and treasure for the good of others. New Life Church, the Conway Regional Women's Council, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Conway Downtown Partnership, United Way and American Cancer Society are among those who benefited from her friendship and commitment. She and her family were active members of New Life Church and served on the weekend welcome team.

She began her professional life with the American Cancer Society. After a career in Organizational Development at Acxiom, Dot returned to what she loved dearly, serving her community. Through her work at the Conway Regional Health Foundation many have been touched by her thoughtfulness, leadership, and passion. Dot joyfully mentored many and was truly gifted at helping others grow personally and professionally.

Dot leaves behind her husband, Kent and their son, Hudson " the light of Dot's world; brothers Mel (Donna) Cox, Dave (Cathy) Cox, Mike Cox, sisters Karla Hastings and Pam Herrington, mother-in-law Ann Kincl, father-in-law Sam Welch, sister-in-law Ashley (Clay) Arnold, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her loving nature, quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed. To know Dot was to love her and to be loved by her.

Visitation is scheduled for 9:30am on Friday, December 10, 2021 followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am at New Life Church in Conway. A private burial will follow.

In honor of Dot's love for her community, memorial gifts can be made to the Conway Christian School Fine Arts Project and the Conway Regional Health Foundation.
