Brett was born in Metter and lived in Metter most of his life. He was a member of the Metter United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Metter High School. Brett attended the University of Georgia where he was a Sigma Chi Brother and later graduated from Georgia Southern College with a degree in business. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. He worked at UPS for nine years and later joined his family at Jimmy Franklin Chevrolet in Metter as a Salesperson.
Surviving are his daughter, Emily Brett Franklin Langston and her husband, Trey of Philadelphia, Mississippi; his son, James Patrick "Jim" Franklin of Philadelphia, Mississippi; a sister, Kay Franklin Miller of Metter; grandchildren, Levi Frank Langston and Lane Brett Langston; and his nieces, Ansley Tatum and Lindsey Miller.
A private graveside service will be held at Lake Cemetery.
