Janet Gilbert , 85, passed away at 10:08 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, at her residence.
Janet was born on September 19, 1936, in Acme, West Virginia, to Dana and Mattie (Plate) Wood.
On September 2, 1955, she married Kenneth Gilbert, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2010.
Janet was a member of Bethlehem Tabernacle Church. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds fan. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Mike Gilbert, Don (Stacie) Gilbert, Ron (Patty) Gilbert, William Gilbert, Princess (Rick) Courtney; grandchildren, Donny Gilbert, Jennifer (Damon) Boothby, Jodi (Jason) Sheets, Tyler Fowler, Haylee (Jake) Lowery, Thomas Keller, Brandon Gilbert, Megan Courtney; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Roger Wood and a sister Alice Perry.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. Franklin Perry will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
