Pfc. Juctin R. P. McDaniel of Andover, N. H., grew up in Andover, and attended Andover Elementary/Middle School and Merrimack Valley High School, graduating in 2006. His family included his mother, stepfather, and three siblings, an older sister, a younger sister and a younger brother. In between his junior and senior year of high school, Juctin completed basic training. He wanted to be a soldier; he was very committed to that as a career. In high school, he was willing to befriend anyone no matter what they talked or dressed like, what crowd they were in. He'd never act snobby. He joined the Army the following November and was assigned to Schofield in April. He deployed to Iraq in November 2007 with the 536th Maintenance Company as a power generation equipment repairer for a 15 month deployment. He died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident in Taji, Iraq at age 19.
