John William Johnston, 56, of Menominee, MI, passed away on December 4, 2021. He was born January 20, 1965 to Jack and Jean (nee Lorenz) Johnston in Green Bay, WI.

He lived in Marinette most of his life. He attended Trinity Lutheran School which helped to shape a faith in God which sustained him until the end. He remained a member of Trinity Lutheran Church his entire life. John expressed his faith in his Lord without reservation.

Upon graduating from Marinette High in 1983, he entered the United States Army. He was stationed in New Ulm, Germany, where he married and had two children, Sabrina and Brian.
After leaving the Army John went to work for Pomp's Tire in Sheboygan, WI.
He moved back to Germany for several years, returning to Marinette in 1997.
He was employed at NKS Tire. He also bar tended at the Dome Lanes. John left NKS to work for Konop Vending where he still worked until the time of his death.

In August, 2010, John married the love of his life, Kyle Bailey-Kroll. She brought out the best in him. John and Kyle enjoyed camping, camp fires, cookouts, loving on their three grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman. If you couldn't find John, odds were he was out on a riverbank or in a boat doing what he loved. He was an outstanding bowler with multiple 300 game rings.
He loved to dance and is remembered for his dance moves. Singing was another forte of John's and he could belt out Johnny Cash like no one else. On top of all of that, nothing made him happier than standing by his grills, rain or shine, cooking for those he loved.
He had a sense of humor that would not quit. When John and Jim got together, you knew you were going to laugh until your sides hurt.

John is survived by his wife, Kyle;
children, Sabrina Johnston, Brian Johnston,
Justin (Danielle) Kroll and Jillian (Jason) Maiola;
three grandchildren, Jaxon, Kasen and Maci Kroll;
sisters: Lynda (David) Bahde, Kathy (George) Brattain;
and his brother and best friend in the world, Jim (Laurie) Johnston.
He is further survived by aunts, Jane (Walter) Rusch and Arlene Sebero;
