Betty Lou Barwick Watson, 84, passed away Friday at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Ruth Ellen Mozingo Barwick, and was the wife for 62 years to the late Paul Leonard Watson.

Mrs. Watson was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and a retired postal carrier.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Committal services will follow in the Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Shumate Faulk Funeral Home.

Mrs. Betty is survived by her daughters, Pamelia Molina and husband, Denny of Falls Church, VA, Paula Thornton and husband, Everette of Seven Springs, Tracey Bargoil of Clayton, and Kelly Putnam and husband, Steve of Kinston; siblings, Eva Joyner and husband, Gene of Four Oaks, Charles Barwick and wife, Faye of Angier, and Johnny Barwick and wife, Bonnie of Kenly; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Victoria, Christy, and the rest of the staff at 3HC for the wonderful care provided to Mrs. Betty.
