Toni was born, December 14, 1928, in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the late Jesse Ellis Atkinson and Rosa Belle Davis Atkinson.
She was a lifelong member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She was very active in the United Methodist women's circle, serving as president for many years. Toni also sang in the choir and was a member of the Mr. and Mrs. class.
Toni loved flowers and had a "green thumb." She enjoyed gardening and canned the best vegetable soup you ever ate.
Toni also enjoyed fishing with her special "Avery" and spent many happy times in the spring and fall on the pier at Atlantic Beach, NC.
Most importantly, she loved her husband of 68 years, her daughters and her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Avery; daughter, Linda B. Moore; a grandson, Clay Fulcher; and siblings, Jerry Atkinson, Ethel Clark and Dorothy Naylor.
Surviving family includes her two daughters, Joan Brewer Fulcher and husband Terry of Winston-Salem, NC and Ellen Brewer Moore and husband Gary Moore of Harrisburg, NC; three grandchildren, Erica Gray, Michael Avery Fulcher and wife April and Brad Moore; six great-grandchildren, Jimmy Fulcher, Katelyn Gray, Gillian Gray, Cody Moore, Eli Avery Fulcher and Amelia Fulcher; one great-great-grandson, Caleb Avery Gray; special nieces and nephews; and loving caregivers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating.
Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
