Evelyn M. Sanders 68 of Murfreesboro and originally of Spring City died Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.
Born on May 8, 1953, Evelyn was the daughter of the late George T. and Mary Frances Hickey Curry Sr. She was a graduate of Spring City High School. Evelyn was a secretary and worked at the Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex in Oak Ridge for 38 years before retiring in 2018. She loved to cook for her family and friends and also liked to crochet. Evelyn especially loved to the help people. She was a member of the St. Mary's Baptist Church in Harriman, TN.
Evelyn was also preceded in death by her sons Tyrone Henley and Brian Henley, her brother George "Rickey" Curry Jr and her sister Lynda C. Ervin.
Survivors include her son Garland (Dikesha) Henley of Murfreesboro, her brothers Stanley (Karen) Curry of Nashville, Clayton Curry of Dunlap and Darryl Curry of Dayton, her sister Denise (Jeff) Moore of Decatur, her grandchildren Jevon Henley, Jordan Henley, Jadon Henley and Joy Henley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Petersburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
