He was born May 5, 1929 in Carbondale to Irvin and Ruth (McKinney) Wright.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
On October 23, 1949 he married Barbara Blankenship. She preceded him on May 6, 1985. On November 1, 1986 he married Joyce, she survives.
He was a coal miner and a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Mason with 32nd Degree Scottish Rite out of Belleville. He was also a member of the Pate Chapel Baptist Church.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of Vergennes; daughter, Deborah of Ozark, MO; grandson; great-grandchildren; step-daughter; step-son; step-grandsons; step-great granddaughter; a sister, Jane of Vergennes; nephews; a niece; other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Marvin and Harold Wright.
Funeral Services for Donald J. Wright will be Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 11:00 am in Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be accorded. Entombment will follow in Murdale Gardens of Memory.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the hour of service.
