Jean E. Jones, 74, of Frackville, PA and formerly of Tamaqua, PA died on Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Frackville. She was the wife of the late William Jones who died on June 29, 2016. Born in Coaldale, PA on November 3, 1947, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Jean E. (nee Rice) Schmauch. A 1965 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Jean had been an aide at the Hamburg State School & Hospital. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua where she had been a member of the church choir. A member of the Tamaqua American Legion Auxiliary, Jean was also a former member of the Tamaqua Lionettes. She is survived by her son, William D. Jones of Frackville and her sister, Gail Davis and her husband Ellsworth of Owl Creek, PA. Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the services. Call 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
