Nancy (Wickert) King, 82, of Fremont passed away at home with her family by her side. She was born on May 9, 1939, to the late William and Marjorie (Stoldt) Wickert.

Nancy graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1957 and married Howard King on May 10, 1958. They shared 59 years together until his passing in 2017.

Nancy grew up raising and showing Belgian horses with her dad, Bill. She was crowned Ohio Belgian Queen in 1955-1956. She then brought the "Bel" to Jer-Bel Farms. She was the chief calf raiser and tractor driver along with all the other things she did on she and Howard's dairy farm, along with raising their children. She was very proud of the farm and the horses they raised together and is now left to the next generation's care.

Nancy and Howard belonged to the Sandusky County Farm Bureau, American Belgian Association, Ohio Jersey Association, and Ohio Belgian Breeders Association. Nancy also worked as a poll worker for Sandusky County and in the library at Stamm Elementary School. She was also a proud member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Nancy was a very faith filled woman who enjoyed reading, taking rides and trips with Howard and day trips to the Amish country. She also liked working puzzles and playing cards. But what brought her the most joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish the memory of the best Mom and "Gram" we could ever ask for are her children, Jeff (Jill) King of Columbus, Tim (Amy) King of Fremont, and Ann King (Norm Frisch); grandchildren, David, Derek (Michele), Matt (Veronica), Brian (Kathryn Reinhart), Jason, Ashley (Joe) Good, and Megan; and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Aubree. She was also excitedly anticipating the birth of three more great-grandchildren.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Howard and parents, Bill and Marjorie.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, November 15 at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00PM.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16 at Grace Lutheran Church, beginning at 10:30 AM, with an hour of visitation prior to services. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The King family would like to express their sincere thanks to Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
