Percy and Martha's son Gordon Campbell Russell gave his life for his country in WWII on the USS Juneau There is a sad article in The Morning Call of Allentown PA Tuesday October 27th 1942 where his parents "counted their lucky stars" that Gordon was transferred off the USS Wasp just a few weeks before it was sunk Sept 15th 1942 by a Japanese torpedo. He was transferred to the USS Juneau instead.
