From the beginning Audrey displayed an independent spirit, carrying herself with class and style! She graduated from St. Peter Claber High School in San Antonio, Texas and received an Associate's Degree from Community College of Aurora. In 1964, Audrey married the late 1st Sgt. Walter T. Haynes and served her country as a military wife and civil service employee. Audrey retired from the Department of Defense Accounting and Finance Service in 1999.

For many years Audrey was an active member of The Retired Enlisted Men's Association (TREA) Auxiliary, The Garden Club of Denver, and True Light Baptist Church. Toward the end of her days, Audrey stated, "I had a good life. I 've traveled the world. I 've seen many places. I loved my life".

Audrey is survived by two children, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three siblings.
