She was born on September 18, 1919, in Herkimer, a daughter of the late George and Anna (Sattora) Miller and was educated in Herkimer schools.
Her marriage to Richard L. Baker, Sr., took place at the First United Methodist Church, in Herkimer, on May 6, 1939, a blessed union of 66 years. Mr. Baker passed away on June 22, 2005.
Her last professional employment was with Sehring Glove Manufacturing, in Herkimer, for 21 years.
As a family-oriented woman who truly enjoyed her loved ones, she was a good and exemplary mother, wife and grandmother, who took her responsibilities very seriously and lived up to them successfully.
Her favorite leisure activities were playing bingo and reading.
Katherine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer-Little Falls and the Town of Herkimer Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her beloved family: two children, Richard L. Baker, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Herkimer and Sheila A. Rockwell and her husband, Wayne, of Little Falls; her sister, Lois Cristman, of East Herkimer; a sister-in-law, Betty Miller, of East Herkimer; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; eleven great -great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Delia Iverson and Nora Holke; her brothers, George, Irvin and Paul Miller; her grandson, Allan Baker; and her great-great granddaughter, Jenna Marquissee.
