A cranky, bossy, fussy, old man passed away on December 14, 2007. No words can describe the pain of our loss. Ralph will be remembered for his love of animals, sense of humor, storytelling, dirty jokes, fondness of Old Crow, and his gift to make lifelong friends. Ralph was born Jan. 1, 1921 in Deseret, Utah. On June 15, 1946 he married Lorena Nevius, after 60 years of marriage she preceded him in death. He served in World War ll as a marine. He retired from Kennecott Copper, was a jack of all trades, a saver of pieces and parts to everything, and master of his own house.
Although ready to move on, he regretted leaving behind Max, his dog; his children, Ray and Marjorie Nelson, Marsha and Ben Abbott; grandchildren, Toby Nelson, Kathy and Charlie Stratton, Jesse Abbott, David Workman and his mother, Debra Pitts; great-grandchildren Austin and Luke Stratton, Rhiannon Trimm and Jared Cowart; neighbors, Bill, Patty, Lucas and Nicholas Cornish and Shane, Misty, MaKayla and Wyatt Philbrick. In behalf of Ralph, the family would like to thank Tom Loken, his exceptional Home Health nurse; Kim, Bret and Vicky and all of the employees at the VA who provided such compassionate and personal care; Jeannie Knight, his housekeeping aide and all the staff at CNS Hospice.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, 2 p.m. December 18, 2007 at Utah Veterans Memorial Estates, 17111 South Redwood Road.
