Mark David Haines, 67, of Twin Falls passed away on November 21, 2021 at St. Luke's Boise.

Mark was born on October 8, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois, the third of four sons, born to Robert Haines Sr. and Lois (Johnson) Haines. After high school, he served 2 years in the United States Navy, then he moved around a bit, living in Illinois, California, then Oregon where he lived a solitary life in a small camp trailer on a plot of land before settling down in Ventura, California. He met and married Dolly (Moore) Haines and became father to her three children. Mark worked sheet metal for years until it was time for a change when he and his family moved to a new house in a new city, from the coast to the desert. After learning how to drive a big rig, hauling ammunition in the Navy, Mark became a lifelong truck driver. He was an owner-operator for 16 years with over 1 million miles between his rigs, then as a company driver until his passing. He earned numerous safety awards during his career.

Mark loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his pets. He had begun praying at the evening meal and was looking forward to Thanksgiving to share a holiday blessing with his family. He loved the holidays, green bean casserole and pecan pie, the ever-growing Christmas light display he set up in the yard and on the house, and spending time with his family. He was an excellent Christmas elf and helped prepare cookies and homemade candies to deliver to neighbors and friends. He was always available to help his neighbors, almost to a fault when his wife would open the front door expecting him to be working on a project only to find him down the street helping a neighbor instead. He was also generous with his handyman skills whether it was to help install a water heater, build a fence, or try to get an old boat motor to start again. He was an avid fisherman and loved going out in his boat to fish the waters of Idaho. He invited friends and family on his day-long fishing excursions. He was also a talented gardener and would share the seasonal bounty of tomatoes, hot peppers, and cherries. Mark was the adored "Doggy Daddy" to his black lab Annie, as well as "favorite lap" to the cats, Spike and Alley Cat. Even the recently adopted semi-feral cat, Quan, would come running when Mark came home from work and said, "helloooo" in a silly voice.

Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dolly Haines; daughters Wendy Wrightnour (Clarence) of Desert Springs, California, and Lisa Bowman of Twin Falls; son Ben Bowman (Stephanie) of Twin Falls; brothers Robert Haines Jr. (Rita) of Tilton, Illinois, and Paul Haines (Renee) of Ventura, California, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, and his beloved furkids.

He was preceded in death by his newborn daughter Shannon Dianne Haines, parents Robert Haines Sr. and Lois Haines, brother Steven Haines, and parents-in-law Edward Moore and Dolores Moore.
