Howard Aaron Moore, Jr., age 80, died December 4, 2021, at his home in Smyrna.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Moore; daughters, Stacie Moore and Jackie Moore; son, Rick Moore; grandsons, Corey and Ricky; sister, Pat, life-long friend Tony; and his beloved cat Lily Moore.

Howard worked for Bridgestone for 27 years building semi truck tires. He was an amateur boxer in his youth and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard A. Moore, Sr. and Edith Billings Moore; brother, Roddy Moore; and sister, Doris Duggin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Emily, Leanne, Lisa, and Brigitte of Avalon Hospice for the gentle, compassionate care they gave to Howard in his final days.

A private visitation will be held at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna followed by a private burial in Mapleview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
