Richard "Rick" Leon Frickberg passed away after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 3, 2021.

Rick was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leon and Beth Frickberg on August 13, 1949.

He married Charlene Prince Lawrence on April 5, 1965. They later divorced, but remained friends.

Rick was the ultimate jokester, life of the party, the last to go to bed at a get together, and a little bit of a storyteller! He could tell stories all night long, we're not sure which ones were true or not, but he stood firm he saw Bigfoot. He was a mischievous kid and a little rebellious. Dad had the biggest heart, even if he stood behind a tough guy attitude when he was younger.

Rick was a true entrepreneur and jack of all trades. He, along with his family, ran many drive-in theaters and restaurants from Utah to California. Rick had a passion for cars. He ran and owned several car lots over the last 3 decades and loved to find a good deal at the auction.

Rick was a family man and loved his kids and grandkids, immensely. Everyone who knew him, knew his family was his world. Nothing made him happier than an invite to dinner, camping or vacation, he was up for anything. Our yearly family camping trips were a highlight for all, especially for Dad. And he was always ready for a game night of dominoes or cards, especially if he was winning. He was truly the best "Papa". In his free time, you could find him wandering his favorite store, Costco, or working on a new project around his house.

Rick is survived by his children Jamie Fabian, Joelle (Jonah) Roberts, Richelle (Michael) Lyford, Delani Frickberg and one of his granddaughters, whom he raised, Alexandra Frickberg; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brother Mike (Vicki) Frickberg, and sister Pamela Jensen.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elaine Frickberg Anderson.

Dad talked often of his parents, and their passing. He missed them tremendously. We know it was a joyous reunion for them to meet again.

We love you Dad and can't wait to see you again. You are free as a bird.
