Dean met the love of his life, Gail Phillips, in 1964 and married in April of 1966. They celebrated their 55th anniversary this year. Together they had three children: Kerry Phillips, wife Wimberly, Kimberly Phillips, and Kevin Phillips, wife April.
He leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren: Vallery Sears, husband Travis, Erica Ayles, Cody Phillips, girlfriend Adreyn Halbmaier, Lauren Phillips, Michael Phillips and one great-granddaughter, Charly Sears; many nieces and nephews, as well as his only living brother, Marlin Phillips, wife Gail.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Blanche Phillips, two brothers: Marion Phillips and Marvin Phillips, and his sister Becky Koenig.
Dean was a loving man of God who cherished his family more than anything. He loved woodworking, to color in coloring books, and chase after his great-granddaughter in his spare time. He enjoyed banana splits and collecting eagles.
He was never happier than when he was with family. He prided himself in being an amazing father and Pawpaw. Most everyone who knew him described him as kind, giving, and a family man, who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Family night will take place Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Dean's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, with a graveside service to follow.
