Ruthie Jones Dunnahoe Porter of Gould, Arkansas, gained her angel wings, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Gardner Nursing Center, Star City, Arkansas.  Ruthie was born May 27, 1936, in Yell County, Arkansas the daughter of Arvil J. and Rmeda Jones. Her parents, husbands Clarence Dunnahoe and Walter D. Porter, four brothers, Edgar, William, Arlen and Virgil, three sisters Effie, Fathie and Sara, two sons in laws Steve Johnson and Michael Blasingame all preceded her death.

Ruthie gave her life at an early age to the Lord, was a current member of Green Meadows Baptist Church in Pine Bluff and a former member of First Baptist Church, Gould, Arkansas.

Ruthie graduated from Gould High School where she excelled in academics, athletics, and beauty as home coming queen.  She held jobs from service stations owner, store clerk/butcher, but her career was office secretary for both elementary and high school with the Gould School system, where she retired after many years of touching hundreds of children's lives. Ruthie was a devoted hunter and fisherman; these all were surly her fondest memories.  

Survivors are two daughters, Joy Blasingame Copeland of Cabot, Arkansas and Janet Johnson of Star City, Arkansas, three grandchildren Jodi (Scotty) of Cabot, Michael Blasingame III of Little Rock, Steffanie (Cody Rogers) Johnson of Star City, ten great grandchildren Dylan Wallis, Veronica Robertson, Alison Shackelford, Scotty Wade, II, Janie Blasingame, Mikah Blasingame, Braden Williams, Bryson Haynes, Skylyn Brooks and Austin Rogers, six great-great grandchildren, also a number of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation and funeral service held on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Griffin Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 PM -2 PM and services at 2 Pm with Rev. Jim Smith officiating and burial following at Dark Corner Cemetery, Gould, Arkansas.  Memorials made to donor's choice of charity. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, AR.
