DELPHOS - Robert K. "Bob" Ladd, 78, of Delphos was called home to be with his Lord at 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Cloverdale to Earl A. Ladd and Janice (Snyder) Ladd, who preceded him in death. His wife. Carolyn (Steager) Ladd, passed away on Nov. 28, 2021.

Bob was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He proudly served our country in the military in the Army at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He had worked for the railroad in his younger years and had owned the A & W Restaurant in Fostoria and The Wheel Inn Restaurant in Delphos. He also had co-owned a tree trimming business with his brother, Roger Ladd. His last career was truck driving for Nickels Bakery and Schneider Trucking.

The one accomplishment he was the most proud of was getting ordained in the ministry. He had studied the Bible in great detail and loved the Lord. Bob also loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his fishing buddies. He was a member of the Delphos Coon Club where he spent many days fishing and just catching up on all the latest news with his buddies. His favorite fishing mate was his son, Bobby. He was loved by his family, especially by his son and daughters.

Bob was blessed with three children, Jan (Bill) Sellers, Audrey (John) Garber and Bobby Ladd. His son passed away on Dec. 6, 2021.

He had eight grandchildren, April (Robin) Fischbach, Chad (Erin) Fischbach, Megan (Ian) Tester, Jodi (Jamal) Garber, Brittany (Ben) Kimmett, Spencer (Courtny) Garber, Evan (Maggie) Ladd and Brielle Ladd; two step-grandchildren, Dave (Kayla) Maxwell and Kurstie Maxwell; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Gloria) Ladd; and Anna Baldonado, whom he and Carolyn had fostered since she was a child.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Dean Ladd, Barb Boothby, Deana Ladd, and first wife, Joan Ladd.

He attended First Assembly of God in his younger years and later attended Christian Heritage Church.

Memorial Services celebrating Bob's life will begin at 2 pm. on Saturday at Delphos First Assembly of God Church on Metbliss Avenue in Delphos. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
