Don had resided in Ellsinore for most of his life. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Mt. Zion Church. He enjoyed Bible study, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, visiting with his friends at the Log Cabin, and spending time with his family and all of his grandchildren. His great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Don was very outgoing, loved to talk to people. You would meet him as a stranger and leave as his friend. In the two years, Don was at Riverways Manor Nursing Home he was a huge inspiration to all. The family would like to thank everyone at Riverways Manor Nursing Home for giving him a home and loving him.
On July 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Jearldean "Jerry" Ellen Thompson in Grandin, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2016.
He is survived by his son, Ernie; his daughter, DeeDee ; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Don was preceded in death by one son, Eric Earl Evans; brother, Delmar Leroy Evans and step-mother, Virgie Alcorn Evans.
A Private Burial will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
