Roland Frederick "Fred" Morgan, 89, of New Bedford, MA and North Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 in Florida. He was the husband of Carole (Manning) Morgan for more than 56 years.

Born in Herkimer, NY, a son of the late Roland Fiske Morgan and Eva Jane (Butcher) Morgan, he has resided in New Bedford since 1972 and has been a winter resident of Florida for over 20 years. Fred was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1948, Rochester Institute of Technology, class of 1950, and Park College, now Park University, in Parkville, Missouri, Class of 1972.

A Korean Conflict Air Force Veteran, Master Sergeant, he began his 20 year service career as a photographer and later became an Electronic Technician flying out of Otis Air Force Base for many years. Prior to retiring in 1997, he was a Field Technician for Brewer Engineering/Teledyne Engineering in Marion for 25 years. A longtime member of St Martin's Church, he was a former Vestry and Choir Member.

An avid pianist, he was known for entertaining his friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed singing with the Choralaires in Florida for many years. Also known as "Big Fred", he was often the source of entertainment with his antics, dancing, and endless story telling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Kristen M. Morgan of New Bedford, Kirk R. Morgan of New Bedford and Kimberly J. Adair of Nashua, NH; five grandchildren, Mia Morgan, Evan Branquinho, Emma Branquinho, Whitney Adair and Aubrey Adair. He was the brother of the late Richard Morgan.

His Funeral Service will be Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 136 Rivet Street, New Bedford, MA 02744. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are in the care of the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA 02748. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
