Don had an encyclopedic knowledge of Indy cars, NASCAR and NHRA drag racing. He enjoyed the company of his faithful companion, his cat, "Puppy Dawg." He is survived by his daughter, Tricia Gilmore Evans, and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh; a grandson, John Evans; his uncle and aunt, John "Jack" and Lane Benesh of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Maria A. Ray of Petrolia; and his nephew, Chase Hunter Pope of West Sunbury. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Gilmore Pope; and his niece, Nicole Gaudin. GILMORE - A private committal service for Donald E. "Don" Gilmore Jr., who died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, will be held in Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia, and will be officiated by the Rev. Lou Pascazi, senior parochial vicar of St. Clare of Assisi Parish. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.
