Sandra DeeAnn Wood, 60, of Waco, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Waco.
Sandra was born March 5, 1961, in Del Rio, Texas, to Jay Griffin Wood (U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant and Vietnam Veteran) and Elizabeth Sue Stewart Wood. She attended school in Amarillo, Texas; Wichita Falls, Texas; Norfolk, Virginia; and Whitney, Texas. Sandra attended high school in Waco and graduated from Connally High School in 1979.
She earned an Associate Degree in Dental Lab from Texas State Technical Institute in Waco. She also earned a Certificate of Pharmacy Technician.
Sandra was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church — she attended church and Sunday School there for decades. An avid sports fan, Sandra enjoyed Baylor women's basketball games and attending her nephew's sporting events.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Jay Wood; and three uncles: Don Wood, Joe Wood, and William "Bill" Stewart.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth "Sue" Wood of Waco; brother, Anthony "Tony" Wood, and sister-in-law, Carol, of Waco; nephew, Seth Wood of Waco; aunt, Peg Stewart of Whitney; aunt, Bonnie Stewart Smith of Arlington; and uncle, Robert D. Stewart of Dallas.
Even though she was dealing with issues for several years, Sandra never complained about her health. She was loyal, kind-hearted, and honest, and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 2 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, Waco.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 3 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX.
Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park, Whitney, Texas.
