Joyce M. Forrest, 85, of Kearney, died November 30, 2021 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, December 3, 2021 at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel with Fr. Art Faesser officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Kearney Cemetery.
Joyce was born October 22, 1936 in Oxford, Nebraska to Lawrence H. and Lucille (Lueking) Covey. She graduated from Oxford High School at the age of sixteen.

Joyce began her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse. She taught in several schools until moving to Kearney in 1973.

She returned to college and became a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner in 1986. She practiced in Kearney for 33 years until she retired. Joyce enjoyed helping many people in the Kearney area for many years.

Joyce enjoyed living in Kearney, studying the Renaissance Masters, traveling to Italy, and driving her black Ford Mustang. She had a strong Devotion to Mother Mary.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Stephanne and Wayne Bengtson, Allyson Forrest-Jones; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Callie Bengtson, Calynn Forrest, Brittany Bengtson, Casey and Raymondson LaForest Sr., Brandi Bengtson; great grandchildren, Allie LaForest, Raymondson LaForest Jr.; brother, Lawrence H. and Shirley Covey Jr.

Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Forrest.
