Dorothy Louise Blakeney passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the age of 95.

Dorothy was born October 27, 1926 in Westbrook, Texas to Otha and Alberta Bradley Conaway. She attended Westbrook schools. She married Edward Blakeney, and the couple raised four girls who they were so proud of. She and Edward were married 51 years before he preceded her in death.

At the age of 49, Dorothy returned to school to get her LVN license. After retiring to Brownwood Lake, she became a Paramedic for the North Lake Brownwood Volunteer Fire Department. Even with her career of helping others, Dorothy always made sure her girls came first. She enjoyed reading books, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, never missing a game.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; daughters Mary Louise Blakeney and Betty Davis; and grandsons Don Alberts and Joe Allen Willingham.

Dorothy is survived by daughters Joyce Sellers of Hawley, Linda Willingham and husband, J.R., of Tuscola, and Sue Blakeney of San Angelo; son-in-law David Davis of Abilene; a brother, Raye Conaway of San Angelo; a sister, Faye Dickson of Bula; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Ross Cemetery in Baird, with Shorty Drennan officiating.
