Richard "Dick" Alan Henry, 87, passed away peacefully, November 27, 2021, at his home in Lakeview, OH.

Richard was born on February 16, 1934, to Ralph Henry and Louisa Lenore Hatcher Henry in Bellefontaine, OH, who preceded him in death.

Richard married Sara "Sally" Hofferberth Oiler on May 16, 1975, and they were married 46 years, she survives. Previously he had married Marlene Downey and they were parents to Terri (Paul) Miller, Tammy (John) Smith, and Toni (Douglas) Butterman, who survive, Also, Daniel Henry and Tina (Melvin) Pieper, who are deceased. Richard also has stepchildren John (Christine) Oiler and Sara (Mark) Debreceni who survive, and Mark Oiler deceased. He has over 20 grandchildren, over 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Richard was also preceded in death by his sister Jeanne (Richard) Vicario and has two surviving special nieces Diana (Michael) Hawkey and Vicki (Charley) Marlowe.

He attended Bellefontaine High School, and prior to his graduation in 1952, he left school and joined the US Navy where he was an engineer in Guam repairing ships, a gunner on an LST in the Korean War, and even bowled for the Navy traveling to Japan, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. After his discharge he joined the Bellefontaine Fire Department where he worked until 1987 and retired. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion and Amvets.

Richard enjoyed his family above all, and in his earlier years had enjoyed bowling, golfing and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 1989.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, there will be no services. A special thank you to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care who were terrific to him and his family.
