Sister Mary Ellen Romero, 69, passed away, November 22, 2021 in Show Low. She was born August 9, 1952 in Springerville, the daughter of Eligio B. Romero and Celsa Chavez Romero.
Mary was a 1970 graduate of Round Valley High School. She was Mother Superior with Franciscan Sisters in Ventura, California before transferring to Rome where she was stationed with Pope John Paul II. She will be missed by her many family and friends.
Mary is survived by one brother: Alvin Romero and sisters: Susie Birnerand Betty Romero.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Andy, Lee, Johnny, and Pat Romero and sister: Rumie Baca.
