Pastor Jerry Wade was born on April 5, 1955, to the late Henry Mack Wade and Mildred Wade of Halifax, North Carolina. He spent most of his childhood in Connecticut and New Jersey where he received his early education. He then attended the University of Connecticut for three years. Afterwards, he attended and graduated from The International Bible College and Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut under the guidance of Dr. J.C. Haynes of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ in 1989. He was ordained and held ministerial credentials from Full Gospel Assemblies in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Wade then attended and graduated from the College of Southern Maryland with degrees in Human Services and Criminal Justice. He was the oldest student in his graduating class. He also achieved certifications in Alcohol and Drug Counseling as well as becoming a Mental Health Technician. He returned for more education and in 2019, he earned a Human Resource Management degree from University of Maryland University College. He was a veteran of The United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He retired from Maryland State Department of Corrections at Boys' Village in Cheltenham, MD.
He worked for the Maryland State Department of Health as a Community Health Outreach Worker. Writing songs and playing the guitar has been a lifelong passion of Pastor Wade to express his love for God. He played guitar for the Connecticut Mass Choir. He also played for and was the lead singer of the group One Spirit One Groove. He loved his football, his westerns and The Young & The Restless.
Jerry was married to his wife on November 1, 1996, in Birmingham, Alabama. They were founders of Peace and Comfort Ministries and worked as an evangelistic team to help promote the gospel of Jesus Christ to whomever, wherever and whenever God called. Pastor Wade was committed to being available for service to God's Kingdom.
Peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home, Pastor Jerry Wade transitioned to eternal life.
Pastor Wade leaves to cherish his beautiful wife, mother, children, sisters, uncles, aunt, along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends.
