May 21, 2021:

Dennis Alan Day, age 68, of Williamsburg, Missouri passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home.

Dennis was born March 21, 1953, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Stokely Jr. and Gladys (Kanallakam) Day/ Dennie was married in 1972 to Beverly (Wolfe) McCane. From this union his daughter, Erica, was born. Dennis remarried on September 12, 2009, to his loving wife, Beverly (Burney) Day. Beverly survives his passing at their home in Williamsburg.

Dennis survived by daughter's, Erica Swagler (Jason), Candace Smith, Sara Burney (Matthew) and Tiffany Droste (John); a number of foster children; eight grandchildren, Olivia, Syndney, Julie, Jessika, Pacey, Nova, Rosalyn and Penelope; two brothers, Danny Day (Linda) and Tracy Day (Denise; nephew, Christian Day; two nieces, Hayley and Hannah.

Over the years, Dennis was owner of several businesses included Day's Suzuki, Seperior Auto Body, insurance adjuster with All State in Missouri, Red Necks Bar and Grill in Fielder, Illinois, alderman for the city of Grafton, Illinois, Riverboat Captain, affectionaly earning name "Captain D'"and an officer of HOG.

Dennis enjoyed Nascar Races, concerts by one of his favorate bands, El Monstero. He had a talent for working with his hands and had numerous hobbies over the years including riding, racing dirt bikes, boating, bass fishing, woodworking, building model boats and cars. he had a collection of fifty. Dennis rode a Harley Davidson Motor Cycle and taught motor cycle safety training classes throughou Southern, Illinois.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherry Day.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
