In addition to working 25 plus years as a dryer operator for the Pfizer Quarry in Gibsonburg, and working 35 years as the chaplain at the local Truckstop, William also became an extended part of the family at the Schedel Estates in Elmore where he worked as their Supervisor of Operations.
First and foremost, he was a man of faith and loved the Lord. He enjoyed traveling back to his childhood home in Kentucky. He liked listening to gospel music and played various instruments including banjo. He enjoyed carpentry and yardwork but he especially loved his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
In addition to his wife Elveta, left to cherish his memory are his children: Rebecca Kreamer, Sue (Roger) Cox, Jeanie Peterson, William Dyer Jr., Mark Dyer and numerous grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren. Sisters: Martha, Rosemary and sister-in-law: Eileen Dyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Pam Dyer, sisters: Molly, Margaret, Mertie, and brother Wade.
Family and friends will be received 9-11 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 201 West Main St. Woodville, OH. Officiating will be Pr. Don Reynolds. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to: St. Jude Children's Hospital.
