She was born April 22, 1934 in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah Harker Morris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles William "Bill" Johnson in 2015; a son, Stan Johnson in 2011; a brother, Daniel Morris in 2011; a sister, Mary Jane Bombick in 2016.
She was a devoted mother and wife. After high school she began a career as a secretary at Centre Foundry before marrying the love of her life and traveling to Germany to be with him during his tour of duty in the army. Upon returning to the states, she began raising a family and changed her name to "mom". In her later years, she and her husband owned and operated the former "Graceland" on Cherry Hill. She was an avid bowler and gardener.
Surviving are her children, Heidi (Mike) Mannion, Steve (Dot) Johnson, Terri (Dan) Thaler and Danny Johnson; daughter-in-law, Cindy Johnson; sister-in-law, Barbara Morris; grandchildren, Chris Morrisey, Kelly Petch, Brian Conway, Craig Conway, Heather Milam, Stephanie Wilkinson, Angela Schmalz, Nicholas Leasure, Jaimie Little-Leasure, Mathew Johnson, Chad Johnson, and Ryan Johnson; several great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722) on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4-7 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11 am with Rev. Dennis Arnold officiating.
Interment to follow at Short Creek Cemetery.
