Walter J. King, 89, passed away on November 27, 2021 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 21, 1932, the son of Jasper and Emma (Daughtery) King and proudly served his country in The United States Army.
He shared many war stories and memories through the years.
Walter retired from Muncie Chevrolet after 34 ½ years as a tow-motor operator.
He will be missed by many family and friends including the love of his life, Betty (Watters) King, wife of almost 63 years; a son, Dudley King (Michelle) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; daughters, Paula Christal (Rick) and Mona Baker (Tim), both of Muncie; grandchildren, Eric Stamper (Ashley) of North Carolina, Shavon Reen (Walter) of South Carolina, Justin Spalding of Georgia, Joseph Spalding of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Lacy Cole (Melvin), Ethan Christal (Deanna) of Eaton; 11 great-grandchildren, Alayna, Annabelle, Broox, Savannah, Jayden, Channing, Isabella, Isaiah, Shiloh, Tipper, and Armor; also surviving are a sister, MaryJo Wright of Ohio.
Walter was preceded in death by brothers, Noble, Hobert and Darrell King; sisters, Mable West, Monnie Duncan, Georgia Anderson, Hazel Roberts, Augusta Duncan and Ethel Tucker.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 with Pastor Ben Lang officiating.
Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery
