Donald was a dairyman for 40 years. Being a farmer kept him too busy to have many hobbies but he managed to find time for a vegetable garden each year.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty (King) Ball of Bridgeport; daughters Connie Hicks and husband Bret of Crafton, Texas, Donna Ball and spouse Heather Ball of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Sandra Morales and husband Doug of Bridgeport, and Rebeca Curry of Vassalboro, Maine; siblings David Ball and wife Bonnie of Nocona, Texas, Jerry Ball of Wichita Falls, Texas, Dorman Ball of Thomas, Oklahoma, Shirley Ochsner and husband Robert of Colorado, June Bonham of Bowie, Texas, Sandy Belew and husband Harold of Decatur, Texas, Norma Welker and husband Steve of Midlothian, Texas, and Brenda Barnard and husband Ronny; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, siblings L.D. Ball, Sammy Ball, Ann Henry, Joe Wayne Ball, C.D. Ball, Peggy Reynolds, and Wanda Mathis.
