Thomas Arthur Evans, was born on November 4, 1936, in Caruthersville, MO to Arthur Greene and Gladys Louise (Baird) Evans. He graduated from Cairo High School in Cairo, IL in 1955. Tom attended Harding College in Searcy, AR before moving to St. Louis, MO to complete his education in the School of Dentistry at Washington University. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree in 1961.
Tom proudly served in the US Airforce from 1961-1963 and reached the rank of Captain before moving to Springfield, MO to open his private dental practice.
Tom retired after 50 years of dentistry in 2013.
Tom's hobbies included goose hunting, scuba diving and boating at Table Rock Lake. He enjoyed reading and watching documentaries on World War I and World War II.
Tom passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021 in Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Gladys Evans. He is survived by his fiancé Monika Sparks; two daughters, Bari Bestermann (Bill); Amy Young (Ryan); two sisters, Norma Lester (Fred); Patsy Thompson (Milton); brother, Joe Evans (Irene); four grandchildren, Amanda Miller (Mike); Melissa Crouse (Brandon), Lauren Price (Kris); Jacob MacDonald and six great grandchildren. Tom is also survived by the family of Monika Sparks that includes two daughters, Teresa Ryals (Jack Spencer) and Erica Snodgrass (Kraig); two granddaughters Amber Ryals (Taylor Carpenter), Jayme Snodgrass; one grandson, Jon Spencer; and three great grandchildren.
There was a brief cemetery service Friday, December 3, 2021, with full military honors at the Missouri Veteran's cemetery in Springfield, MO.
