Rosalie Jean Townsend Palmer, born February 13, 1927, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Warren Irl Townsend and Lora Mabel Day, peacefully passed away November 16, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dearrold I.F. Palmer and her son Kirk M Palmer. Rosalie grew up primarily in Manhattan, Kansas, where she graduated from Manhattan High School in 1945. She attended Palmer Business School and then worked for Capper's Weekly in Topeka, Kansas before her marriage in 1950.
After raising her children, she again used her secretarial skills by working for the president of the Oklahoma League of Women Voters and then for the engineering department at the St. Joseph (Missouri) Light and Power. Rosalie and Dearrold were charter members of Quail Springs United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Rosalie enjoyed traveling, learning and was an avid reader, proficient bridge player, crocheter and active mother and grandmother before her long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Those who loved her will remember her sense of humor and outgoing personality. She lived in seven different states and found good friends in each.
Rosalie was a loving mother to her four children: Kirk (Jourdan) Palmer, Kristin (Allen Wiseman) Palmer, Kimber Palmer and Kay (Greg) Leslie. She had four grandchildren: Elizabeth Wiseman, Emily Wiseman (Mark) Brickler, Lora Leslie (Brandon) DeMoss and Lydia Leslie; and four great grandchildren: Grayson and Harrison Brickler and Evelyn and Julia De Moss. Her cremains will be buried next to Dearrold's in the cemetery in Savannah, Missouri.
