Carol Lynn (Hudson) Phillips, age 69, of Centerville, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Carol was born on August 27, 1952 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Dwain Edwin Hudson and Helen Louise (Davis) Hudson. She was united in marriage to Edward Ervin Phillips on July 11, 1970, and to this union, two children were born, Jason and Jimmy.
Carol worked at Centerville Water Company for a while, before accepting a position as secretary at Sheila Sildes Law Firm. She also worked for over 20 years at Joe's Quick Shop in Centerville. Carol enjoyed playing slots at casinos in her free time. Most importantly, she loved being with her grandchildren. Family always came first.
Left to cherish Carol's memory are her husband, Ed Phillips of Centerville; her sons, Jason Phillips of Ottumwa and Jimmy Phillips of Centerville; seven grandchildren, Coby Phillips, Hudson Phillips, Sloan Phillips, Zoe Phillips, Carson Phillips, Jacob Phillips, and Torie Phillips; one great grandchild, Vanessa Phillips; brothers, Gary (Nonie) Hudson of Knoxville, and Phil (Kathy) Hudson of Mystic; several nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as her Joe's Quick Shop family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Dwain and Louise Hudson; and a sister, Donna Corbett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, December 3, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Eric Hoover officiating. Visitation will take place Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM.
