CARTER, Ophelia ,O.H., Helen, 81, left this life for a better place on May 31, 2008. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Rogelio and Grace Garcia; brothers Roger and Tommy; sisters Olga and Ellie. She is survived by her sons Mike Trudden, Harlo Jones and Alan Jones; daughters-in-law Irma (Rae) Bennett, Cindy Jones and Elaine Jones; sister Dalia Kreeger; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 6 nephews, a niece, several cousins and many friends. An Ybor City native, was raised in Tampa. She worked for the United States Government Patent Office for 20 years and retired in 1988. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Helen's sense of humor, laughter and honesty will be missed by all the, HONIES, she leaves behind. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. with a wake service at 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa. An additional visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 6400 E. Chelsea Street., Tampa. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
