Des Moines—Jane Noble 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 after a long-standing battle with a version of Parkinson's Disease. She was born on May 7, 1941 to Lester and Carol Kellogg who preceded her in death.
Janet graduated from Lincoln High School and later obtained degrees from both Iowa State University and Drake University.
Janet's career was a teacher in the Des Moines Public Schools where she specialized in teaching those identified as having learning disabilities. At various times she taught at Monroe Elementary School and Jackson Elementary School, but she spent much of her career at Brody Junior High. She continued to teach as a substitute for some Public Schools where she specialized in teaching those identified as having learning disabilities. At various times she taught at Monroe Elementary School and Jackson Elementary school, but she spent much of her career at Brody Junior High. She continued to teach as a substitute for some time after her retirement from Brody.
Janet was intelligent and a fiercely determined, skilled and compassionate educator. Friends and family will remember her best for her love of teaching pets and travel
Before her health failed, she had arranged trips with her sister, all of her children, and most of her grandchildren. Warm weather cruises were a particular love. For a time, she was also an accomplished sweepstakes entrant (which include winning an all expense paid trip to the 2000 Olympics in Australia).
She is survived by her sister, Pat Larson, her children, Jamie Wheeler, Joan Noble (Gary McNeely) and Jeff Noble (Amy Noble), Janet had 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchldren.
Per her wishes, Janet will be cremated and, also per her wishes, there will be no formal visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Animal Lifeline of Iowa, www.animal-lifeline.com.
