Thelma Deloise Fields Flores was born February 23, 1940, to the late Deacon Odell, Sr., and Lennie L. Williams Fields. She was the 6th of 11 children. Thelma received her wings on November 16, 2021.

Thelma accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Strickland Springs Baptist Church in Waskom, Texas.

Thelma graduated from Booker T. Washington High School (Elysian Fields, TX). She attended Texas College (Tyler, TX) and Sacramento Jr. College (Sacramento, CA).

After college, she moved to Dallas, TX, and joined the Riverside Missionary Baptist where she served faithfully in many capacities. She later moved to Sacramento, CA an joined the Greater Hill Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she also served faithfully at the church in many capacities. While in Sacramento, she met and married her late husband, Tellas P. Flores, Sr. After many years in California, she and her husband retired to Waskom, Tx, where she served faithfully at Strickland Springs Baptist Church until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Tellas P. Flores, Sr.), son (Rev. Jim Franklin Johnson, Jr.), grandson (Deandre Johnson), parents (Deacon Odell and Lennie Lee Fields), and nine siblings.

Thelma leaves to continue her legacy: Daughters: Tonya Turner of Waskom, TX: Jimmie Wrenn and Ora Linley (Tony) of Dallas, TX, Jean Flores of Gilmer, TX, Lucinda Johnson and Marilyn Flores of Sacramento, CA. Sons: Reginald Resino of New York, NY, Michael Johnson of Dallas, TX, Anthony and Michael Flores of Sacramento, CA. Sisters: Esora Evans of Forney, TX, and Barbara Dulaney (Larry) of Houston, TX. Brother: James Douglas of Houston, TX.

Grandchildren: Christina Martin, Deneen Devoual (Roderick), Victor and Vincent Turner, Monique Johnson, Kristina, Jasmine, Jasper (Sarah), and Jacinth (Demit) Flores. Great grandchildren: Cassidy Turner, Ajia and Semaya Hamilton, Ava and Malik Orr, Kairon, Raiden, Keira, Jace and Iylah Flores.

God children: Marilynn and Taiwan Chandler. Honorary God Child: Mary Lewis of Sacramento, CA. Special niece/sister: Lynnis Wilson (Goree) of Los Angeles, CA and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
