She ran the food pantry at Saint Matthews for a number of years, and continued working there until she was 90 years old. Nancy was a long time Sunday school teacher, loved singing with the church choir, and played both the piano and accordion. She was known for all of her wonderful candy and hot rolls. Nancy was a caring, giving person. She loved making other people happy and never expected anything in return. George and Nancy spent their retired years on Lake Barkley enjoying fishing, camping, and all of the other campers.
She is survived by her children, Georgia Hitch (William) and Jerry Henry (Regina Dillworth); grandchildren; Jason Henry, Richard Moritz (Julie), Sarah Meier (Jeremy), Amanda Ziegler (Derrick), Kyler Henry (Stephanie), and Jeremiah Martin; great grandchildren, Luke Moritz, Diana Ziegler, Kameron Henry, Walter Ziegler, and Joey Henry; awesome caregiver, Deborah Greenlee; and "special outlaws", Donna Henry and Bernard Moritz.
Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, George Henry; son, Pat Henry; grandson, Jeffrey Henry; second husband, Royal Pitchers; and two brothers.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthews Church Friday December 3, 2021 3:00pm – 7:00 pm and Saturday December 4, 2021 10:00am-11:00am. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tim Judd, will be held Saturday December 4, 2021 at 11:00am at the church, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Published in Courier Press on Nov. 30, 2021.
