Harlingen - Rogelio Enrique Garcia, who was 80 years old went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born in Ciudad Victoria Tamaulipas on March 14, 1935, to Petretita Castillo and Agustin Garcia. He was an Accountant who worked in Monterrey Nuevo Leon for numerous years before coming to the Rio Grande Valley where he resided in Harlingen, Texas. Once in the United States he was hired to work for the Valley Morning Star Newspaper where he was employed at for 18 years until he retired.

Rogelio's passion was to travel around the world, and he did this with his beloved wife Eloisa. As a result, he learned about other cultures and loved to eat all kinds of different foods from different countries. He was a music lover who loved to sing, and his favorite band of all time was the Beatles. Rogelio will always be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a very hard worker, who loved life, and traveling to different places. He was also loving, was known for his smile, and will always be remembered for his compassionate and charitable spirit. When Eloisa passed away, a part of his heart left with her, and he missed her greatly everyday---his hope was to someday see her again in the afterlife.

Rogelio is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Eloisa Garcia, his parents, Petretita Castillo and Agustin Garcia, and also by his stepchildren: Juan Manuel Hernandez, Sr., and Ruben Valdez. He leaves behind his beloved stepchildren whom he loved as his own: Jesus Valdez, Pedro Valdez, and Dr. Adela Valdez. In addition, he leaves behind his beloved sister, Dolores Castilla, a nephew, Reymundo Castilla, and nieces Cliseria Fabian, and Esperanza Castilla, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Rogelio will always be remembered as a man who fell in love with the love of his life and accepted his bride Eloisa unconditionally. May Rogelio rest in God's loving peace alongside of his beloved bride Eloisa, and his parents. Que Dios te Bendiga.

An internment service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.
